“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.”— Matthew 25:23
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Luther “Danny” Daniel Eubanks, who passed away peacefully on August 1, 2026.
Known simply as Danny, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Above all, he loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His faith guided his life and was reflected in his kindness, humility, and service to others.
Danny’s greatest joy was his family. He cherished time with his loved ones and leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and devotion.
He spent most of his career with CSX, where he built a respected career and lifelong friendships. He loved being outdoors—especially hunting, fishing, and time in God’s creation. He enjoyed working with his hands, fixing things, and helping others whenever needed, always without expectation of return.
Danny is survived by his wife, Lorraine Eubanks; his son, Daniel Eubanks, and daughter-in-law, Lena Eubanks; his granddaughters, Jordan Griffith (Joseph Griffith), Braelyn Eubanks, and Marlie Eubanks; and his great-grandson, Kyler Griffith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth Eubanks and Bill Eubanks.
Danny will be remembered for his strong faith, love for his family, work ethic, and generous spirit. Though deeply missed, we rejoice that he is now home with his Savior. His life reflected faith, humility, and unconditional love, and his legacy will live on in all who knew him.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, August 6, 2026 at Sweet Haven Church with Rev. Kane McKenzie officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sweet Haven Church, 234 Midway Road, Rockingham, NC 28379
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day.”
