Carl Wesley Hodges

Carl Wesley “Buck” Hodges, 82 of Rockingham passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Hospice Haven of Richmond County.

Buck was born on November 9, 1941, in Richmond County, a son of Henry Hodges and Shadie Knight Hodges. He served in the United States Air Force and later worked with the railroad as a switchman .

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ernest June Hodges, and Richard Hodges; sisters, Bea Paul, Jean Laughridge and Marie Quick. 

Surviving are his wife Barbara Dawkins Hodges, step-children Clay McIntyre, Prestie Henry Smith, and Runa Chavis. Brother Harold Hodges of Texas and Sister Gloria Hodges Reaves of Rockingham. Beverly Moss McFayden who was like a daughter. 

Visitation will be Wednesday May 1, 2024, at Carter Funeral Home, Rockingham from 12:00-1:00 pm. Funeral service will Follow at 1:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home Colonial Chapel.  

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee.
