Cecil Eli Smith

Cecil Eli Smith 59, of Ellerbe passed away on Friday January 7, 2022 surrounded by his family at his home. He was born on January 28, 1962 in Richmond County a son of Ralph Smith and Iris Vernelle Shular “Nealie”Smith. He was an avid hunter, avid crappie fisherman and loved his grandchildren. He had worked with Robinson Auto diesel, Commonwealth Hosiery, T & S Mills and Renfro/fruit of the loom.

He is survived by his wife, Debra “Debbie” Smith,  children, Ashley Hogan(Adam), Amanda McLain(Garrett McIntyre), Tabitha Davis(Eddie), Joshua Smith(Leigh Anne), Terri Cassidy(Mack); grandchildren, Brianna, Kelsey, Adena, Hunter, Aliyana, Kinleigh, Presley, Natalie, Sean, Casey, Trevor, Hailey, Brantley, Zackary, Jackson, Kayli, James and two great-grandchildren on the way, three of his sisters , Betty West (Tommy West) , Patsy Everett( Richard Everett) , Judy Robinson(Larry Robinson) and their children and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Arthur Smith and a nephew Kevin Allred.

A memorial service with Pastor Wayne Luck officiating will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022 , at 2:oo pm in the chapel of Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe, NC.

The family will receive friends on Sunday  from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Carter funeral Home in Ellerbe.

Facial coverings and social distancing are required and requested by the family.
