Cecil Wallace Parker, 96 of Rockingham, passed away peacefully on Friday August 1, 2025 at Richmond County Hospice Haven surrounded by family.
Born on May 22, 1929 in Richmond County to the late Roy H. and Ruth Snead Parker. He served in Korea with the United States Army before returning to Rockingham, he then spent several years in the National Gaurd. He worked for 17 years at LOF Glass in Laurinburg in the shipping department. He was a member of South Ridge Baptist Church in Rockingham.
Cecil had a love for Jesus, spending time studying and teaching the Bible and leading Sunday School classes. He enjoyed playing the guitar and listening to Gospel and Bluegrass music. He also loved the Carolina Tar Heels.
Surviving are his loving wife of 71 years Edna Joyce Todd Parker, his two daughters Sherry Caudle and husband Robby Caudle Jr. of Hamlet, Donna Simmons and husband Taft Simmons of Johnson City, TN and grandchildren Crystal Caudle of Hamlet, Tara Roberson (Brady) of Johnson City, TN and Trey Simmons of Nashville, TN.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings; Roy Parker, Jr., James Parker and Ruth Elaine Broome.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday August 9, 2025 at South Ridge Baptist Church with Pastor Ronnie Chavis and Pastor Robby Caudle, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 2:45 PM at the church. Burial will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park with Military Honors.
