Catherine McLaughlin Bass

Catherine McLaughlin Bass, 85, of Ellerbe, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at her home.

Mrs. Bass was born July 30, 1935 in Elizabeth, New Jersey. A daughter of the late John and Novelia Crawford McLaughlin. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Ellerbe and the former co-owner of Ellerbe Springs Nursery. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Turner Staton Bass and a son, Turner Staton Bass, Jr.

Surviving are her sons, John H. Bass (Guillermina) and William T. Bass (Teressa); seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A service to celebrate her life will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 9, at Ellerbe First United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Emily Blair. The family will greet friends following the service in the church parlor.
