Brenda Chavis Snyder

Brenda Kaye Chavis Snyder, 78, of Rockingham, beloved wife, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 25, 2025 at her sister Carol’s home.

Brenda was born September 27, 1946 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Cole L. and Beulah May Smith Chavis. She had worked with Raytheon in Arlington, VA and following her retirement she and her husband Glen moved to Rockingham. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Rockingham. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Glenvor “Glen” Snyder and a brother Garrison Ray Chavis.

Surviving are her brother, Cole L. Chavis, Jr., sisters, Carol Chappell and Margaret Lindsey and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Rockingham with Rev. Jack Lee officiating. Interment will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery in Hamlet.

The family will greet friends from 5:00 -7:00 pm Monday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at her sister Carol’s home.
