Billy F Snipes

Billy F. Snipes, 86, of Rockingham, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital-Richmond Campus.

Mr. Snipes was born October 7, 1934 in Union County, a son of the late Roy and Frankie Rape Snipes. He was a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church where he had served on various committees and enjoyed cooking.  He had worked with White Poultry Company for many years and retired from Perdue, Inc. Following retirement, he worked as a Food Broker with Action Food Sales and also with American Cleaners. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Hinson.

Surviving are his wife, Lucille Wilkerson Snipes; children, Gwen Snipes, Cynthia Teglas and David Marshburn; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 2 pm Friday, December 11, 2020 at Eastside Cemetery with Rev. David Lee officiating. Face coverings are required, please practice social distancing and bring a lawn chair for the service.

Mr. Snipes will lie in state from 10 am – Noon Friday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham. The family will not be present at this time.
