Benny Gray Gilmore

Benny Gray Gilmore, 49, of Hamlet, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

Benny was born May 2, 1972 in Lee County, a son of Della Hamilton Gilmore Hewitt and the late Bobby G. Gilmore. He was a graduate of Richmond Senior High Scholl, Class of 1991. He loved the Carolina Panthers football, racing and most importantly he loved his family. 

Surviving are his wife, Michelle Burns Gilmore; mother and step-father, Della and Bobby Hewitt; step-children, McKayla Ard (Amber Loftis) and Scottie Loftis; brothers, Wayne Knight and Johnny Knight; sister, Miranda Gilmore (Terry); step-siblings, Bobby Hewitt, Jr. and Belinda Oblinger and 5 nephews and 2 nieces.

A memorial service will be at 6:00 pm Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Abundant Life Church, 1797 E. Broad Ave., Rockingham with Rev Joe B. Wilkes, Jr. officiating.

The family will greet friends following the service.
