Annie Kate McFayden

Annie Kate Mabe McFayden, 85, of Ellerbe, completed her earthly journey on Saturday, October 31, 2026 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.

Mrs. McFayden was born February 17, 1941 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late James H. Mabe and Lucy Belle Wilkins Mabe Shankle. She graduated from Ellerbe High School, Class of 1958, was a member of Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church and had attended Saron Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking for her family, and playing Rook with her siblings. She had retired from ADS Manufacturing.

Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Bill McFayden; children, Randy McFayden (Regina) and Terri McFayden; granddaughter, Abby McFayden, siblings, Glenn Mabe, Debbie Robinson, and Eddie Mabe, and niece and nephews, Kerri Borthayre (Stephen), Eddie Mabe, II, and Rodney Mabe (Lynne).

A service to celebrate her life will be held on 2:00 pm Monday, November 9, 2026 at Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church with Rev. James Watson and Rev. Wayne Luck officiating. Rev. Dr. John G. McFayden will hold a private committal service in the Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
