Julius McCoy Powell

Coy Powell Mr. Julius M “Coy” Powell 67, of Cordova passed away Saturday January 27, 2007 at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital. He was born May 14, 1939 in Darlington S.C. a son of the late James and Bertha Crouch Powell. He was a member of West Rockingham Church of God. He worked at Klopman Mill in Cordova for 15 years before working and retiring at Hudson Pulp and Paper in 1982. Funeral services will be held Monday January 29 at West Rockingham Church of God at 3:00pm with Rev. Bobby Haney officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife Christine Poston Powell of the home two daughters Gayle P. Sanford of Cordova and Julia P. Corbett of Rockingham. And one sister Loyce P. Millen of Rockingham. Four Grandchildren and Four Great Grandchildren. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00-9:00pm at Carter Funeral Home of Rockingham and at other times at the home at 284 Ledbetter St. Cordova.
