Shirley Nunley

Mrs. Shirley Jane Bowen Nunley, 63, of 156 Hickory St. Rockingham, died Friday, January 19, 2007 at her home. She was born November 5, 1943, in Scotland County a daughter of the late Alex and Mary Jane Bowen. She was a long time transportation worker in Richmond County. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Lee Nunley in 1996. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 22, 2007 in the Carter Funeral Home Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Russell Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Hillside Cemetery of Laurinburg, NC. Surviving her are sons Tommy Nunley and wife Elaine of Hamlet, Billy Bowen of Lumberton, daughters and sons-in-law Sue and Brantley Douglas of Hamlet, Bobbie and Keith Johnson of Mt. Gilead, 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Sunday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and other times at the home on Hickory St. She is loved by many and will greatly be missed.
