Richard Russell Race

Richard Russell Race, 85, of Hendersonville, NC died Monday, January 8, 2007 at Elizabeth House in Flat Rock. Mr. Race was born November 12, 1921 in Detroit Michigan a son of the late Percy and Marjorie Boyer Race. He was an optician and was preceded in death by his wife Virginia McIntyre Elderson Race on July 12, 2006. Surviving are his sisters, Terri Snyder of Franklin, NC and Dorothy Hudecki of Florida. Step children, Craig Elderson of La Verne, CA and Debbie Kessler of Salisbury, NC . Graveside services will be held at 4:30 PM Wednesday at Ellerbe Cemetery in Ellerbe NC.
