Grace Thompson Godfrey

Mary Grace Thompson Godfrey, 80 of 737 Capel Mill Rd. Ellerbe died Thursday, December 21, 2006 at Firsthealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Mrs. Godfrey was born March 8, 1926 in Anson County, a daughter of the late Archie F. and Mary Lou Maness Thompson. She was a member of Concord United Methodist Church, a graduate of Ellerbe High School, Class of 1944 and had retired from Commonwealth Hosiery after 27 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband Johnny R. (JR) Godfrey. Surviving are her daughters, Sandra Morris of Ellerbe, Myra Farnham of Pinebluff and Susan Turner of Williamston, 3 grandchildren, Joey Morris of Cary, Rachel Turner of Richmond, Va, Jessica Turner of Williamston, sisters, Irene Ballard of Ellerbe, and Betty White of Gastonia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at Carter Funeral Home Ellerbe Chapel. Interment will follow in Ellerbe Cemetery. The family will see friends from 12:45 –1:45 PM Saturday at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe and at other times at the home on Capel Mill Rd.
