Juanita Willoughby Yates

Juanita Willoughby Yates, 79, of 351 Lake Road, Rockingham, passed away Friday, July 14, 2006 at her home. Mrs. Yates was born September 26, 1926 in Bladen County, NC , a daughter of the late Bud and Viola Goins Willoughby. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Rockingham where she was very active in the adult choir and the Womens Missionary Union. She was the Secretary and Treasurer of Yates Electric Company for many years. She was preceded in death by an infant son. Surviving are her husband of 60 years, James Thomas Yates of the home, their children, Debbie Cato and husband Jerry of Jacksonville, FL, Cathy Hill and husband Danny of Raleigh, and John Yates and wife Monica of Rockingham, grandchildren, Chris Cato, Kevin Cato, Drew Hill, Ryan Hill, Kaitlyn Yates and Alex Yates and a great grandson, Matthew Cato. Also surviving are her brothers, Jimmy Willoughby of Hamlet, Johnny Willoughby of Rockingham, her sisters, Peggy Chapman of Rock Hill SC, and Dotsy Marze of Seabrook, TX. A service to celebrate the life of Juanita Willoughby Yates will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at First Baptist Church of Rockingham with Rev. T. David Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will see friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Sunday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the home on Lake Dr. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Rockingham,201 N.
