Mrs. Edna Carter Freeman, 76, of Rockingham, died Friday, June 9, 2006 at her home. She was born January 5, 1930 in Richmond County, a daughter of Ruth Solomon Carter and the late Rufus Carter. She was of the Baptist faith and a retired inspector with Ford Motor Company. Surviving are her sons, Lee Hall of Rockingham and Doug Campbell of Salisbury; her mother, Ruth S. Carter of Hamlet; three sisters, Linda Lowery and Cathy Braddock, both of Rockingham, and Sarah Parrish of Hamlet; and 2 grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday in the Colonial Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Wilkes officiating. Entombment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will see friends from 6 to 8 pm Sunday evening at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham.
