John Thomas Lassiter

John Thomas Lassiter, 75, of Rockingham, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst. Mr. Lassiter was born July 4, 1942 in Richmond County, a son of the late Mason Lee and Frances Moss Lassiter. He was a member of Maple Street Free Will Baptist Church and had been employed with the Richmond County Water Department. Surviving are his wife, Mary Bennett Lassiter; children, Chris Lassiter (Heather), and John T. Lassiter, II (Michelle); grandchildren, Ryan, Cameron, Trenton and Shannon Lassiter; step children, Crystal Strickland (Jerry), and Michael Maree (Melissa), and several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 2pm Monday, September 18, 2017 at Richmond County Memorial Park with Rev. Darwin Cook officiating. The family will see friends from 12:30 – 1:30 pm Monday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham.
