Treva Mary Lawson Chappell, 88, of Ellerbe, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Sandy Ridge Assisted Living in Candor. Mrs. Chappell was born February 2, 1929 in Stokes County, a daughter of the late William Robert and Daisy Ellen Bibey Lawson. She was a homemaker and farmer’s wife and attended New Hope Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Grant Puckett, Harvey Rorie, Reid Chappell, son Phillip Puckett and grandsons, Mitchell Puckett and Jamie Puckett. Surviving are her children, Wanda Puckett Steele (Thomas) of Jackson Springs, Jerry Puckett (Linda) of Ellerbe, Tony Puckett (Joan) of Lilesville; 6 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Saturday at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe with Rev. Don Rhyne officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will see friends from 12:45 to 1:45 pm Saturday at the funeral home and at other times at Jerry & Linda’s, 794 Clayton Carriker Rd., Ellerbe.
