Joseph Andrew “Joey” Cassidy, 26 and Katherine Cole “Katie” Floyd Cassidy, 23, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017. Joey was born March 30, 1991 in Moore County, a son of Frankie Cassidy and Alice Seagraves Hall. Katie was born May 21, 1994 in Moore County, a daughter of Benjamin Steve Floyd and Melinda Maples Floyd. Joey had worked with Superior Crane and Katie with Cindi’s Diner. Katie was preceded in death by a sister, Carrie Elizabeth Floyd. Surviving are their son, Andrew Cole Cassidy. Joey is also survived by his parents, Frankie Cassidy of Ellerbe, Alice Hall (Roger) of Ellerbe; brothers, Charlie Cassidy of Ellerbe and Mack Cassidy of Ellerbe; and step siblings, Nic Hall of Rockingham, Jason Hall of Cary and Brittany Wagner of Ellerbe. Katie is also survived by her parents, Steve Floyd of Siler City, Melinda Floyd of Marston; grandmother, Betty Covington Maples of Rockingham and sister Bonnie Floyd Herndon of Rockingham. A service to celebrate Joey and Katie’s lives will be held at 1 pm Saturday at Kings Gate Church with Pastor Eddie McLean and Pastor Larry Bullard officiating. Interment services will be held privately. The family will see friends following the memorial service at Kings Gate Church and at other times at the Hall home in Ellerbe and at the Maples Home in Rockingham. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family for a fund to be set up for Andrew Cole Cassidy.
