Peggy Sue Alden Taylor

Peggy Sue Alden Taylor, 80, of Wedgefield, SC, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017 at her home. Mrs. Taylor was born April 28, 1937, in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Crawford Amasa and Lillie Mae Campbell Alden. She was a graduate of Rockingham High School and retired secretary for the US Department of the Treasury. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Marguerite Rivers and Betty Jo Frazier. Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Robert Keith Taylor of the home; children, Robin T. Crosby of Charleston, SC, R. Keith Taylor, Jr of Rockingham, Danny F. Taylor of Amelia, VA, Dean A. Taylor of Beardstown, IL, and Terri T. Lutes of Fairfax, VA; grandchildren, April Hamblin, Alvin Bratz, Melissa Dennis, Ryan Ewald, Emily Danner, Robbie Taylor, III, Travis Taylor, Myca Taylor, Alec Taylor, Adriene Taylor, Jeremy Lutes and Alan Lutes; great grandchildren, Thomas Bratz, Kristen Hamblin, Carson Hamblin, Dane Dennis, Natalie Dennis, Greer Danner, Mable Danner and Lizzie McHone; and sisters, Doris Smith of Pinehurst, Priscilla Lewis of Marston, Patsy Smith of Charlotte, Jeannie Baldwin of Rockingham and Elsie Edmunds of Hamlet. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Rockingham with Rev. Patricia Greene officiating. Entombment will follow in the Richmond County Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will see friends from 12:45 to 1:45 pm Wednesday at the church.
