Bobbie Jean Gibson

Bobbie Mabe Gibson Bobbie Jean Mabe Gibson, 79 of Rockingham passed away on Monday, July 17, 2017 at Hospice Haven. Bobbie was born on June 21, 1938 in Pahokee, Florida a daughter of the late Alvin and Georgia Howard Lewis. Bobbie was a homemaker and a member of Norman Baptist Church. Bobbie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and sister. She enjoyed sewing, decorating cakes, grooming dogs, nursing baby animals back to health, collecting Beanie Babies, cooking for dinners at her church and spoiling her grandkids. Also, she adored her great-grandson, Brady as well as her cat Tom, and dog Ernie. She will be missed. Surviving are her husband, Donald Gibson of the home; son Michael Wayne Mabe and wife Delbra of Ellerbe; grandchildren, Mandy Mabe, Stacy King(Jacob) both of Troy, Dusty Mabe(Cassie) of Raleigh; great-grandson, Brady King; her siblings, Gladys Loftis(Ed) and Charles Lewis(Selma) all of Rockingham, Fred Lewis(Linda)of Green Cove Springs, Florida and Grace Martin of Arcadia, Florida and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son Richard Earl Mabe and a daughter Susan Annette Mabe. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe with the Rev. Greg Carter officiating and burial will be in Ellerbe Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:45 – 10:45 prior to the service at the funeral home.
