Ruby Craven Cooke

Ruby Ann Craven Cooke, 90, of Woodbridge, VA, formerly of Ellerbe, NC, passed away Monday, June 19, 2017 at her daughters home in Woodbridge. Mrs. Cooke was born July 19, 1926 in Montgomery County, a daughter of the late James Calhoun and Martha Ann Pusser Craven. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ellerbe, where she was very active in the Women’s Mission Union. She had retired from Samarcand Manor as a Cottage Life Counselor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie R. Cooke. Surviving are her daughter, Gwen Cooke Blockis of Woodbridge, VA; granddaughter, Melissa Staab (Andy); great grandson, Griffin Staab; and brother James M. Craven of Ellerbe. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe with Rev. Wayne Luck officiating. Interment will follow in Ellerbe Cemetery.
