Lura Luther Smith

Lura Luther Smith, 91, of Rockingham, passed away at her home on June 15, 2016. She was born June 18, 1925 in Randolph County a daughter of the late Israel Monroe and Bessie Latham Luther. Lura was a homemaker and attended New Hope Freewill Baptist Church. Mrs. Smith is survived by her, children, Rowena S. Arthurs of Rockingham; Fannie S. Moore of Asheboro; Richard Wayne Smith of Hoffman; Jasper “JP” Smith of Murrells inlet, SC; a sister Barbara Chappell of Candor; 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 2 :00 pm Sunday, June 18, 2017 in the Colonial Chapel of Carter Funeral Home, Rockingham, NC, with , Rev. Allen Hudson and Rev. David Parrish Officiating. Burial will be in Northam Cemetery. The Family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
