Enid Lancaster McFayden

Enid Lancaster McFayden of Ellerbe passed away on May 7, 2017. She was born on October 5, 1932 in Green Sea, SC. A daughter of the late Alfred Edward Lancaster and Mary Vance Buffkin Lancaster, she was married to Willard Thomas McFayden for 60 years. She was a graduate of the Medical College of South Carolina School of Nursing and worked at Moore Memorial Hospital in Pinehurst as a Registered Nurse in the pediatrics ward until the birth of her first child. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church. Enid was preceded in death by her son, Tommy; her sister, Yvonne Shelley; and her brother, Joseph Lancaster. She is survived by her husband Willard; her son Greg (Shannon) of Charlotte; her daughter Jane McFayden Buck (Ron) of Winston Salem; four granddaughters: Tyler McFayden, Lauren McFayden, Audrey Buck, and Ellen Buck; and two sisters: Wilhelmenia Suggs of Green Sea, SC; and Freida Harrelson (Bobby) of Gastonia. A graveside service will be held at Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church cemetery, 1367 Clayton Carriker Rd., Ellerbe on Wednesday, May 10 at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Wyatt Coley officiating.
