Bobby Ray Rainwater

Bobby Ray Rainwater, 81, of Rockingham, passed away Monday, March 6, 2017 at his home. Mr. Rainwater was born March 27, 1935 in Richmond County, a son of the late John Roy and Elizabeth Grice Rainwater. He attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and had retired from Burlington Industries. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Covington Rainwater and a brother, Billy G. Rainwater. Surviving are his children, Bobby Ray Rainwater, Jr (Bonnie), John Timothy Rainwater (Lorie) , Angela Jean Rainwater (Paul Gribben), all of Rockingham; grandchildren, Melissa Richardson (Aaron), Rebecca Rainwater, Megan Rainwater and sister, Sara Stewart of Rockingham. Graveside services will be at 11am Thursday at Richmond County Memorial Park with Rev. Thomas Butler officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery and at other times at Ray & Bonnie’s, 270 Country Canyon Dr, Rockingham. Mr. Rainwater will lie in state Wednesday from 3 to 5 pm and Thursday from 9 to 10 am at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham Memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 1247 Sandhill Rd., Rockingham, NC 28379
