Kay Childers Oliver

Kay Childers Oliver, 73, of Rockingham, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at FirstHealth Hospice in Pinehurst. Mrs. Oliver was born November 12, 1943 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Luke and Martha McPherson Childers. She had been a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Rockingham. In addition to being a stay at home mom, she had worked at LuPeg’s Shoe Store and was involved in the family business, Childers Sand and Gravel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Wayne Oliver. Surviving are her children, Robert Wayne Oliver (Betty Jo), Caron Oliver Miller (Buddy), all of Rockingham; grandson, Joshua Hunter Oliver (Lauren) of Boone; brother, Robert Luther “Bob” Childers of Winston-Salem and sister Diane Childers Leviner of Rockingham. Funeral services will be at 7pm Friday at Sweet Haven Church with Rev. Mitchell Roller officiating. Committal service will be at 11 am Saturday in Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will see friends following the service at Sweet Haven Church and at other times at the Miller home, 119 Walker Lane, Rockingham.
