Sandra Dawkins Goodwin

Mrs. Sandra Alice Dawkins Goodwin, 56, of 113 Valley Hill Dr. Rockingham, died Sunday, March 5, 2006 at her home. Mrs. Goodwin was born May 30, 1949 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Roy Lee and Frances Jesse Blakley Dawkins. She was employed with Burlington Industries for over 20 years. On June 27, 1986 she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Peggy Deese and Frances Young. Surviving are her husband, Leo T. Goodwin, of the home, whom she married June 7, 1967, their children, Tommy Goodwin of Ellerbe, Lisa Goodwin of Alexandria, VA, grandchildren, Hailey and Kyle Goodwin, brother, Gene Dawkins of Rockingham, sisters, Faye Liles of Hamlet and Delores Shepard of Rockingham. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Carter Funeral Home Colonial Chapel with Rev. Joey Byrd officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will see friends from 6:30 – 8:30 PM Tuesday at Carter Funeral Home and at other times at the home on Valley Hill Dr. Memorials may be made to Richmond County Hospice, PO Box 2136, Rockingham, NC 28380. “God help me to be a helper of the helpless.”
