Eugene Cribb

Eugene Cribb, 75, of 511 Graham Bridge Rd., Rockingham, died Thursday, February 23, 2006 at his home. Mr. Cribb was born February 28, 1930 in Marlboro County, SC, a son of the late Liston and Callie Smith Cribb. Gene served his country in the US Army during the Korean War, was stationed in the Canal Zone, Panama at Ft. Clayton and was honorably discharged after 9 years of service. He was a retired insurance salesman, and was later employed by the NC Motor Speedway and the Royal Plaza Motel. He was preceded in death by his wife and beloved step-mother of his sons, Mary Elizabeth Bryant McDonald Cribb. Surviving are sons and daughters in law, Jerry and Michele Cribb of Manteo, Dwight and Sharon Cribb of Havelock, Luis and Donna Cribb of Valley, Alabama, and six grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers, Earl Cribb of Jacksonville, Florida, Levon Cribb of North Augusta, South Carolina, L.B. Cribb of Ocala, Florida, sisters, Nellie Faye Cribb Gibson and Betty Ann Cribb Gilliam both of Laurel Hill, Jerry, Dwight and Luis’s mother, Libby Cardenas of Panama and a special friend, Janice Bryant. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday at West Rockingham United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Chandler and Rev. Phillip Huber officiating. Interment will follow in the McDonald-Cribb Cemetery. The family will see friends from 6:00 -8:00 PM Saturday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the home.
