Johnnie Bert Hardee

Johnnie Bert Hardee, 63, of 159 Broadway St. Rockingham, died Sunday, February 19, 2006 at his home. Mr. Hardee was born December 9, 1942 in Richmond County, a son of the late Henry Rufus and Edna Carolyn Oliver Hardee. He was a member of Jefferson Park Free Will Baptist Church and was a retired brickmason. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Ruth Cox Hardee in 1994. Surviving are his children, Johnnie B. Hardee, Jr and wife Wendy of Rockingham, Carolyn Hardee Johnson and husband Tracy, Teresa Hardee Shepard and husband Jimmy, Audrey Hardee Miller and husband Leonard and Ashley Hardee all of Rockingham, adopted children, Tammy Shepard and Scotty Collins of Rockingham, and 14 grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Charles Howard Hardee and a sister, Reba Brashears, both of Oregon. A service to celebrate the life of Johnnie B. Hardee will be held at 4:00 PM Wednesday at Jefferson Park Free Will Baptist Church. Private interment will be held at Northam Cemetery. The family will see friends immediately following the service at the church and at other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Jeremy Jacobs, 171 Battley Dairy Road, Hamlet, NC 28345.
