Millard Clayton Vuncannon

Mr. Millard Clayton Vuncannon, 93, formerly of 219 Marvin McCaskill Rd., Ellerbe died Saturday, February 18, 2006 at First Health Richmond Memorial Hospital. Mr. Vuncannon was born September 28, 1912 in Montgomery Co., a son of the late Remus and Ethel Lassiter Vuncannon. Mr. Vuncannon was a charter member of First Baptist Church in Ellerbe. He was retired as a farmer. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Tuesday, February 21st in First Baptist Church in Ellerbe with Rev. Bill Monroe officiating. Interment will follow in Ellerbe Cemetery. Surviving are; three sons, E. Eugene Vuncannon of Charlotte, Phillip A. Vuncannon of Maxton, and Jerry C. Vuncannon of Gibsonville; two brothers, Howard Vuncannon of Ellerbe and Larry Vuncannon of Mint Hill; one sister, Reba Ann of Mint Hill; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mr. Vuncannon was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Simms Vuncannon in 1985. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe.
