Ruth Ward Durden

Mrs. Ruth Ward Durden, 86, of Rockingham died Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at Penick Village in Southern Pines. She was born October 10, 1919 in Northampton Co., a daughter of the late Hattie Walston and Herbert Ward. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 16th in the Carter Funeral Home Colonial Chapel in Rockingham with Rev. Bill Kearse officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Surviving are; two daughters, Lynda L. Durden of Rockingham and Kathryn D. Ingram and husband Michael of Sanford, NC; two sons, Charles S. Durden of Marshall, NC and Robert W. Durden of Rockingham; six grandchildren, Roger Larsen, Russell Larsen, Randy Larsen, Lisa Fry, Cameron Ingram, and Kelly Durden; five great grandchildren, Chase Larsen, Taylor Larsen, Courtney Fry, Brynne Ingram, and Karlee Butler; and one sister, Lynette West of Palatine, IL.
