Hubert Thurman Comer

Mr. Hubert Thurman Comer, 81, of Fifth St. Ellerbe, died Sunday, February 12, 2006 at Pinehurst Nursing Center in Pinehurst. Mr. Comer was born December 8, 1924 in Montgomery County, a son of the late Lindsay Wister and Margaret Virginia McFayden Comer. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church, a veteran of the US Navy during World War II havein served as a radio man on the USS Crater and USS Katmai and was a retired manager for A&P Stores in Charlotte. Surviving are his brothers, Clinton Comer of Roanoke, VA, Fred Comer of Fayetteville,NC, Ray Comer of Greensboro and a sister Margaret Thompson of Pinehurst. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church with the Rev. David Alexander officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will see friends in the church fellowship hall following the interment and at other times at the home of Helen Comer on Sunset Ave. Ellerbe. Memorials may be made to the Mt.
