Jerry "Punky" Hilton Martin, Jr.

Jerry Hilton “Punky” Martin, Jr., 41, of Ellerbe, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Punky was born June 11, 1971 in Moore County, a son of Jerry Hilton Martin and Kathy Ann Raines Wilson. He was a graduate of Richmond Senior High School, an avid wrestling fan and a very active fundraiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the Jerry Lewis Telethon. Surviving are his parents, Jerry H. Martin of Rockingham and Kathy Raines Wilson of the home; brothers, Charlie Martin of Rockingham, John Wilson of the home; sisters, Mandy Taylor of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, Kerri Spivey of Rockingham; grandmother, Katherine Raines of Ellerbe and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Sunday at McDonald Baptist Church with Rev. Alex Perakis officiating. Interment will follow in Ellerbe Cemetery. The family will see friends from 1:45 to 2:45 pm Sunday at the church and at other times at the home, 646 Crawford Rd., Ellerbe. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family
