L.W. Love Knight

Love Knight Mr. L. W. Love Knight, 60, of 214 Connell Rd. Rockingham, died Thursday, June 21, 2007 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Mr. Knight was born March 7, 1947 in Scotland County, a son of the late Gilbert and Polly Locklear Knight. He was active in the Samaritan Colony and a retired textile worker. Surviving are his wife, Ovelia Oxendine Knight of the home, son, Douglas Knight of the home, daughter, Amanda Goodwin of Hamlet, grandchildren, Chris, Breanna, and Nicholas Smith, all of Hamlet, brothers, Wilbert Knight of Maxton, Raymond Knight of Laurel Hill, Ronnie Knight of Raeford, sisters, Marcella Grainger of Wadesboro, Joann Barfield and Lillie Mae Smith both of Laurel Hill. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday in the Colonial Chapel of Carter Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will see friends from 5:00 –7:00 PM Saturday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham. Memorials may be made to the Samaritan Colony, 136 Samaritan Dr. Rockingham, NC 28379.
